Bethany and Will are undoubtedly one of my favorite bride and groom of all time. I actually met them through the referral of Sara and Graeme who are also my favorite. We first met each other at The Staples, which is where the reception venue was going to be for a quick walkthrough. After that, Sara and Graeme actually came over because they were meeting for dinner. They cordially invited me to join. How could I say ‘no’ to an occasion where I get to hang out with my clients, especially two couples I have and will be working with! It was a pleasant time.
Will told me that they were going to hold a really casual wedding. And he wasn't kidding when he said that. The ceremony was right by the water at the pier in West Seattle. There were no seats at the ceremony. Everybody was standing and surrounding the couple. And there was no sit-down dinner at the reception either. We had pizza and beer. Although it wasn't formal, it was definitely one of the most emotional weddings I have ever participated in.
When I brought Will to meet Bethany for the first-look, he burst into tears immediately. He couldn't believe how beautiful she was. I wasn’t surprised, though. Because when I previously asked him if he was going to cry when he sees her, he replied, "Oh yeah, I'll be crying like there's no tomorrow." So you would think he would have cried his eyes dry from the first look, but no. He started sobbing again at the ceremony when Bethany walked down the aisle with her dad. Everybody was tearing up the whole time.
A lot of touching moments. A lot of stories were shared.
I managed to snap a picture of them with Bethany's veil in front of the camera lens like a feather before they started crying again. I haven't done a lot of veil shots, but this is for sure my favorite.
