Horse Carriage Wedding Photo

Horse Carriage Wedding Photo

From one of my favorite couples, Erik & Willow, this photo constitutes one of many surprises that happened on their wedding day. The horse carriage is a surprise the bride arranged for the groom as she walks down the aisle to see each other for the first time. To really showcase the horse carriage and incorporate it into the photo for Erik & Willow, I placed the horses in the foreground and position the bride and groom in the background with a pinch of light in order to strive at attention to the couple. The composition of this image is inspired by Fearless Photographers, an organization that promotes creative imagery is each and every way possible. Having had entered the image competition numerous, I believe this one truly embodies the spirit of Fearless' mission - to push the boundary of what a wedding photograph would look like.

When looking back at this photograph during the design consultation for this couple, they were shocked to see the result of this picture. During the portrait session, I was lying my body down on the grass in order to get an unusual angle. The couple were really confused as they thought, "what the heck was Roddy doing there?" Needless to day, this photo came out just the way I hoped it to be and I'm thrill to enter this image for any future competition!
