It was a beautiful night at the JM Cellars, where Hannah and Emerson tied the knot in front of their friends and family. The event was full of love and gatherings of people from all over the world. This is the last shot of the night, where the lovely couple embraced each other amidst the candlelight, with two lit trees surrounding them.
This shot was something I've been wanting to experiment for quite a while. The concept is really simple. I used two flashes to light up the two trees from the bottom. One with OCF (color temperature orange) gel and one with color temperature blue gel. And of course, one more flash placed right behind the couple for a back-lit effect. Thanks to Julie the florist who has put in an insane amount of time and effort in decorating the reception area, I was able to take an advantage of all the candles on the ground to add an extra flair of accent into the photograph. Night time portrait has always been one of my strengths. Oddly enough I had not posted many examples of my work in such lighting environment. Finally, I'm really pleased to show you the endless possibilities of what a photographer would be able to create out of a total darkness!
