The Foundry by Herban Feast Wedding Photography

What a beautiful moment! I captured this photo during the mother-son dance at a Filipino wedding held at The Foundry by Herban Feast. I absolutely love the raw emotions captured here. She saw her son grow up before her eyes. And now she's sharing a dance with him on his wedding day. This is the type of moment only mothers experience. And wedding photography is all about capturing those small moments.

I had the chance to get to know the groom's mom a little bit on the wedding day during the preparation. She was really sweet and welcoming. At times, she would joke about how I have to make sure that she comes out really pretty if I photograph her! We both laughed out loud as I jokingly told her that that’ll cost her extra. I love developing this type of banter with the family. This way, they feel way more comfortable in front of the camera. When I'm shooting, I love chatting with everybody. Not only to make everyone feel comfortable, but it's just good fun. Plus, the photos come out way better when everyone's having fun!

She was gracious and cheerful throughout the day. As the day went on, I saw the emotions evolve and peak when her son vowed to spend the rest of his life with his wife.

During the ceremony, the mother and son shared the dancefloor for the mother-son dance. Here, I focused on the mom because you can just see the maternal love radiating from her expression.

Family is an important part of wedding photography!

Family is one of the most special people at the wedding. (Second to the bride and the groom, of course.) They're just as emotionally invested in the day as the couple and they've been waiting for this day for a long time. It’s a significant milestone in their lives as well. I always try to include as many candid family photos during the wedding. Because I want the bride and the groom to remember how their family was there for the couple's special day.

I truly believe that good wedding photography includes all aspects of the wedding. I want you to look back at your wedding album years later, and notice the vibe, the people, the food, the emotions. We all want to relive our wedding day sometimes, right?
